AIR FRIED FISH AND CHIPS
Ingredients:
- 150g cod fillet cut into strips
- 30g all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 50g panko bread crumbs
- 200g Carisma potatoes
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (7g)
- 1 tablespoon non-fat Tartar sauce for serving
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix the flour with paprika, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Place the beaten egg in another bowl and the panko breadcrumbs in another bowl.
- Pat the fish dry using a paper towel. Dredge the fish in the flour mixture, then the egg and finally the panko breadcrumbs, pressing down lightly until the crumbs stick. Spray both sides with oil.
- Air fry at 400°F, turning halfway through until crispy and lightly golden, about 10-12 minutes.
- Meanwhile clean the potatoes and cut in to batons and let them soak in water for 10 minutes and get rid of the water. Pat dry with a cloth to get rid of excess water. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
- Open the fryer and check the desired doneness of the fish with a fork to see if it flakes off easily. You can return the fish for another 1 or 2 minutes, if necessary.
- Once the fish is done, spray some oil on the potatoes and air-fry the seasoned potatoes for approximately 15 minutes. Give a good shake half way through to get a nice crispy outer layer.
- Serve the fish immediately with fries and tartar sauce.
