6 things you can do to stay on track
A few years ago, whenever I got too busy, I used to do this thing that blows my mind now.
I used to be in the “ignore it and push through it” club. By that, I mean I’d take the overwork hit but just keep going.
I’d tell myself: “I’ll deal with this later.”
And I was super proud of myself – because you know what? I could take it.
But even though I could handle the actual work … I didn’t always manage the stress.
Well … guess what?
Eventually, one way or another, you end up having to deal with it.
You can end up getting sick, having headaches, getting injured, or feeling burned out.
If you’re also in the “push through it” club … you may want to consider jumping over into the “self-aware club” instead … because that’s where the real power is.
Now, this doesn’t mean you have a pass on your responsibilities … it just means you’re listening to your body and managing your workload & stress levels along the way.
Here are 6 things you can do to help you not only stay on track… but do it more sustainably:
- Start your day with self-development – I guarantee this will change your life. Starting the day with positivity and a strong mindset will set you up to approach the day with the right mindset. I like audiobooks. I listen to an audiobook while walking upon waking up.
- Batch tasks – I tried different strategies; what worked for me was dedicating a time block or a whole day to one task or a whole-time block to similar tasks. I find this saves a lot of time and stress.
- Spend less time on social media – I used to spend so much time on social media. I managed to cut that down to a maximum of 30 minutes across all platforms. Guess what? I’m happier and more productive.
- Do more demanding tasks when you have the most focus in the day. This was another game-changer for me. I’m sharp in the morning and for a couple of hours after a workout. So I try to do the tasks that require the highest focus in that time.
- Prioritize sleep.
- Delegate – I used to be suck at this. I wanted to do everything myself. I lost sleep and burned out. Nobody can do everything by themselves.
The little things you do every day will have the most significant impact on your energy, resilience, fitness, and health!
